March News
Welcome Spring!
For the next few weeks, we will finish up our month-long theme focused on different aspects of friendship and kindness.
In addition, there may even be few leprechauns on hand to play a trick or two. 😉
The children are enjoying our Literacy Station time. I have added a ‘Write Around The Room’ station for the children to enjoy this month. It is a fun way to practice the process of spelling, as they hunt around the room to find pictures that are ‘hidden’ in our class.
In Math we are working on a concept called Part-Part- whole. This centers around the understanding that amounts can be separated in different ways and then be combined together to create the whole again. For example: 1and 6 = 7; 2 and 5= 7 ; 3and 4 = 7 . We will also continue to work on counting; the foundation of understanding mathematics.
Ramadan
We will be learning about the Celebration, Ramadan. I am excited to share with you that a former mom, Mrs. G , (Osiyo’s Mom), has offered to help me teach the children about Ramadan. Mrs. G and I will teach the children about some of the things Muslim people do during this time, and the cultural significance, during this time of Ramadan. We will finish the unit with an Eid celebration! We are so privileged to have Mrs. G share a little of her culture with us! Also, a huge thank you to Ms. Khan (Arsh and Arham’s mom) for finding activities and games to enhance our learning!
If you get a chance, drop by to see our ‘Kindergarden’. We planted daffodils and tulips in the Fall and they are beginning emerge from their long Winter rest.
Enjoy Spring Break!
